As the gate swings open after we placed the withered eye in the skull, we hear Pash calling out to us from down the hall.
He came to let us know what he found out while working with Umberto Noblin. He confirmed that Ziani did see the Eye of Vecna. And there is the Hand of Vecna which was last wielded by Arkhan.
After reconvening and telling him what we have been up to, we head further in…
The bottom of the stairway opens into a wide sanctuary with a vaulted ceiling. Stone pews are arranged in orderly rows. Black candles burning green flames occupy niches along the walls. Atop a pulpit at the far end of the hall stands a jagged sculpture of an emaciated hand with one eyeball in its palm.
The symbol of Vecna is recognizable at the end of the vaulted corridor.
We take the East path.
We check the books in the center of the room and it mentions a someone named Zalryr. The walls covered in books and scrolls. Pash finds a locked lockbox among them. I unlock it, finding it to be trapped but containing 2 Potion of Greater Healing.
Upon opening it, the skull in the center of the room comes alive. It was a Flaming Skull all along.
I quickly destroy the skull before it can cause us any issues. Bardon unfortunately can’t purify it, so it will return in an hour or so.
We move on down the Southern corridor.
Another ritual. Another set of cultists.
We can hear Jerot calling out from inside the room. Wraiths appear in the room moments later. Some form of ritual is going on.
Bardon releases a fireball into the room, to a moderate effect.
I teleport into the room to try and take out a wraith.
I see the Nothic in the corner with Jerot.
Treeavenger pulls Jerot to his side and holds him in place. Jerot summons a small horde of undead to even his odds.

Cultists appear from the path at the other end of the hall.
We finish off Jerot. The Eye of Vecna rolls out of his pocket and stuns all of us.
We survive their onslaught caused by the mass stun of the Eye of Vecna. We continue to whittle away at the forces attacking us.
We finish off the last of the enemies.
The ritual circle in the center of the area goes dark and smoke fills the room.
What seems to be an image of Vecna appears in the chamber.
It speaks simply:
How disappointing.
It spoke of keeping its eye on us and sped out of the room, passing through each of us.
Treeavenger attempted to pick up the eye, and was singed significantly for doing so. Directly holding the object should be avoided.
After a few minutes of fumbling, Pash manages to get the eye into a pouch. Though he seemed possessed for a moment, attempting to pull out the eye, Treeavenger manages to stop him before he does anything too harmful to himself.
We finish checking the rest of the area. Finding roughly 100 gold in the cultist chambers.
Treeavenger tries to destroy the Vecna symbol in the church like area, but just harms himself instead.
We head out to rest in our homes for the evening. To see Lord Neverember in the morning and let him know what we saw and found.

Break Time
Most of us struggle to sleep through the night. I have a fairly normal night.
We head to visit Lord Neverember. He rewards us with 2000g each.
As Treeavenger begins to explain what is going on. He vanishes. Each of us in turn disappears.
Reappearing in a new chamber… Finding ourselves in front of three people who seem confused at our being here suddenly

We hear one of them mention a place called Sigil and it not being a place someone can teleport into.
They introduce themselves to us as Alustriel, Mordenkainen, and Tasha. They were in the process of casting a Wish spell in order to find the source of a darkness in the universe. It seems we may have been summoned in response to it.
We let them know that it is likely Vecna.
They accost Pash about feeling the darkness coming from him. He had replaced one of his eyes with the Eye of Vecna. They are very upset at the idea of someone replacing his own eye with Vecna’s.
The three powerful spellcasters mention that they will be out of commission for a while after casting such a powerful Wish spell. They offer to let us rooms here to stay in for now.
Mordenkainen mentions various places in Sigil that we could visit:
We head out into the city.
We head towards the Market Ward to do some shopping.
There is a strange spider like creature in the corner selling books.
Pash buys a Bag of Holding. A shadow has a stale with only a single Baleful Talon. I asked and he explains that it is 45,000 gold. Impossible. With Pash’s help in distracting the shadow, I grab the dagger and slip away from everyone.
The shadow calls for guards and a pair of large pit fiends appear and question everyone nearby.
Everyone finishes up their shopping and I regroup as they head to Fell’s Tattos
On the way a Bone Devil passes by exclaiming about how good the reward for catching the thief would be. After making him feel bad for racially profiling me for being an elf, it sulks off, banging its head on the nearby walls.
We reach the Tattoo parlor and meet the proprietor Fell.
Pash haggles the price down and Bardon gets a tramp stamp of a dolphin jumping over a dog’s butthole tattooed for 7500g.
Treeavenger decides to hold off for now, and we head onward to the Grease Pit.
Various shops all around selling a multitude of foods. From plant based meats to probably-road-kill and more.
We each get some food and head to the Smoldering Corpse Bar.
Pash gets nearly knocked out with his first drink. Treeavenger drinks some weird devil cum. I decline, looking at Pash convulsing on the floor. And wanting to stay sharp with the Pit Fiends from earlier being in the bar. Bardon chugs a firey brew.
Pash goes to leave and is stopped by a strange buggy boy.
After failing to headbutt the bug, he feels pity and decides he’s fine. Pash knocks himself out. Treeavenger carries him out.
We head onward to the Bank of Abbathor for reasons!
We talk to a nearby Red Dragon but otherwise don’t accomplish much of anything here.
We head back to the Sanctum where we were told we had rooms…
The west side contains a library.
While the east contains a workspace.
The South-Eastern staircase leads to our shared room.
We sleep and in the morning Alustriel comes to get us. Telling us that they may have come up with a plan.
Pash finally goes to put something in the Bag of Holding he bought. It was not a normal Bag of Holding, but a Bag of Devouring. He got sucked into the bag.
I manage to pull him out, barely.
With that, we decide to head downstairs.
