After dealing with the Bag of Devouring, we head downstairs to meet with Alustriel Silverhand and the others. She inquires about Pash’s eye and he insists it is fine. No issues or voices or anything.
She gives us a moment to ask any questions before the others arrive.
We explain to them what happened with the cultists and how we came in contact with the eye.
Mordenkainen tells us that Vecna is too powerful to stop directly, even now. We will need the Rod of Seven Parts. He knows where the first is and should we get it, the piece will lead us to the next. It was originally called the Rod of Law. Once controlled by a group of good elementals. It was used against an unnamed evil and then when the rod banished it - it got split across the multiverse, thus being named Rod of Seven Parts. He knows of the unnamed evil, but will not utter its name.
Chime of Exile, belonging to Alustriel, it can banish any thing.
They are still recovering from casting the Wish spell, so we will have to take care of it for them.
The location of the first segment of the Rod of Seven Parts is somewhere in a safehouse deep in a place known as Web’s Edge in the Underdark
We step into the portal Mordenkainen opened for us.
We hang somewhere in space. Pash feels a burning in his eye and recognizes that its Vecna. We see a vision of some dwarves and hear an uneasy whispering of doubt in our ears.
As we float through space, we eventually find ourselves at our destination…
Treeavenger tries to bash the door open with a ram, but fails. Pash casts knock to open it. I find a Ruby worth 50g on the ground.
The remains of mold-covered broken wagons and barrels languish in this large foyer. Humanoid skeletal remains lie strewn about, their swords and armor bent and rusted. Something gleams next to the bodies propped along the northern wall. Double doors on the east, northeast, and southeast walls are rusted shut, and a semicircular chamber that opens in the southwest wall contains a shrine.
Treeavenger heads North to try and pick up more rubies, but finds them stuck to the floor and takes significant lightning damage instead.
We decide to try and go through the North doors. Treeavenger still unable to open it and Pash not wanting to waste a spell slot, I easily pick the lock.
Treeavenger stumbles in and someone within screams.
It is some deep gnome. I quickly try to be cordial and it screeches at me like some basement dweller who has never interacted with another person in a decade.
It then blasts me and summons a demon.
Treeavenger gets grappled by the creature and I finish off the gnome.
The demon proves to be most troublesome, but eventually we succeed in finishing it off.
We check the table and Treeavenger finds a Scroll of Circle of Death and a +2 Dagger.
We decide to take the Northern pass. Treeavenger stops suddenly, overhearing a conversation happening ahead of us.
Seems to likely be a meeting relating to Lolth.
We decide to interrupt their conversation. (I might be a bad idea)
Definitely a bad idea.
We take out the Erinyes with a disintegrate and a particularly pointed stab.
And quickly mop up the rest.
We attempt to accept the surrender of the one who was a sheep the entire time, but it was just a bait as they incinerated themselves with a fireball.

We investigate the room and discover they have been feed Ker-Arach, some monstrosity that has been eating 100s of lbs of meat a day, and that it is a blessing from Lolth.
The staff from the final surrendering foe’s staff was merely a Staff of Withering.
We decide to go back and head through the South corridor. Treeavenger notices 2 people talking in an off branch. We try to sneak through, but Pash gets their attention.

After a bit of a struggle, we manage to take out both of them. We learn about a captured cyclops that they are attempting to convert.
We take a short rest before moving on.
I pick the lock so we can move forward.
…And we immediately find not the cyclops, but a giant demon(?) of some kind.
We try to take it out quickly, but it teleports and downs Pash in a flurry of strikes.
After a bit of a bout, we manage to take it out. Bardon saving Pash from death.
The keys the being dropped open into a prison. The cyclops in one, a grey skinned figure in one, and 2 corpses in another. A chest and a club in one corner.
The cyclops calls itself Gertrude. Despite the aggression of Pash, she does not die. At least until Treeavenger frees her from the cell. The Grimlock, Sril Brayspoke,
Bardon frees the Grimlock who immediately tries to run. I quickly finish it off, can’t trust a runner.
We head through the North corridor we were just in and find another desk and several beds.
I open all of the chests, finding several symbols of Lolth, some potions, and a Gem of Seeing.
We search the room to the South, finding a chest of meat.
We take another short rest before heading back to the central corridor.
Where we find some snapping creatures. Chained to the walls, they pose no immediate danger.
Treeavenger opens the door to the next room to reveal a massive room. A spider dragon, likely Ker-Arach, and what seems to be some kind of roper.
I teleport into the room to try and attack the roper-like being. After taking my hit, however, it teleports away before I can follow up.
We notice a glowing cocoon toward the center of the room.
A piece of the Rod of Seven Parts?
The dragon comes down and fails to cover me in its wild spider venom breath.
I retaliate aggressively, bloodying the creature in an instant.
The dragon sneaks around and blasts Bardon and Treeavenger with its breath again.
Pash finishes off the spider dragon with a magic missle, while Treeavenger finishes off the roper with a massive axe swing.
With them dead, Treeavenger picks up the first part of the Rod of Seven Parts from the center wall of the room.
With the part in hand, we head back to the portal to Sigil.
