We arrive back in Sigil with the next piece of the Rod of Seven Parts and refugees who were willing to leave the broken vessel.

We head off to rest after the long day…

We have a strange joint dream, floating through the familiar void again. Jolting awake in the middle of the night. Though we manage to sleep through the night without any issues it seems…

Pash has disappeared, but we head downstairs to have breakfast and find where we are heading next.

After breakfast, we use the next part of the Rod and find our next destination: The Mournland on the continent of Khorvaire

Mordenkainen arrives shortly after and warns us that the place is very dangerous and that we should not trust anything we see there. He tells us to find a Docent, a control core for colossi in the region, which will help us find the next piece of the Rod once we return.

We head through after taking his warning to heart and find ourselves in the middle of… no where in particular.

We have appear through a strange floating oval glassy mirror.

I peer closely at it, and it reflects the nearby topography in its surface for a moment.

It begins to rain… the from the surface into the sky with literally cutting rain. We hurry towards the closest colossi.

As we head down the hill, that seems to stretch on forever, we begin to hear a low moaning sound coming from all around us. Eventually the moaning becomes a shriek and the rain turns to blood.

After hours of traveling however, we arrive at the colossi corpse. The blood rain still pouring.

We approach and investigate the colossi, with a large bear thing jumping out.

Another bear appears.

They are a real force to be reckoned with, but we manage to take them out.

We continue to investigate the wreckage, but I do not find anything of note. Meanwhile, Bardon tries to resummon his owl familiar, but the rain turns to glass again, killing it as soon as it is summoned.

Treeavenger finds deep, angular boot prints belonging to unusually heavy, bipedal creatures lead to and from the wreckage.

We decide to follow the tracks for several hours, but just seem to lose them. However the rain seems to have turned to spiders instead.

We happen onto another ruin. Bardon notices a stone humanoid leg on the ground. Seemingly petrified… I hear a pecking sound in the distance and the call of a rooster ahead of us.

I sneak ahead a bit to determine the exact source of the sound and find a strange creature indeed. However, at the same time, the other two are detected by another of the same creature.

We finish off one bird, and let the other escape. The fact that everything seems to explode on death makes for an annoying time fighting in melee range.

We investigate the area and Bardon notices smaller, fresher boot prints made by lighter bipeds meander aimlessly about the wreckage. It’s impossible to discern the aim of these lighter bipeds from these tracks alone.

We continue forward. Several more hours of travel with nothing to show for it…

three more hours pass and we are right back to where we killed the bird. A big ‘ol circle. Fuck.

Two elemental beings form in front of us. Crash into each other. And fade away. Quite a strange place. The air elemental blows through us.

We head back off in search of a colossi…

Break Time

More time passes, though we make some progress, but need to find somewhere to rest. Bardon manages to find somewhere we can hobble together a nightly shelter.

I see a red eye in my sleep. It whispers to me…

We continue on and make it to the colossi. And find a super friendly looking construct pilfering about, a Cadaver Collector of sorts.

Treeavenger calls out to it. It beckons him forward, and Treeavenger approaches.

It goes to swipe at him.

We enter the fray. It’s mechanisms whirl and a mist comes out of it, which cause some strange apparitions to appear as if from the corpses on it’s back.

Bardon easily destroys the majority of the spirits. However, it blasts a cannon that leaves myself and Treeavenger paralyzed.

Bardon attempts to finish it off with a scorching ray, but it fails to finish it off. However, the flames from the rays coalesce into a fire elemental that looks to be targetting Bardon.

I go down after taking the massive hit while I couldn’t move. Bardon heals us, and I finish off the construct.

All that remains is the elemental… It leaves Bardon burning, but Treeavenger manages to take it out.

We finish them off and look over the wreckage. I find that something was taken out of a rod within the chest with great precision. And also find an Immovable Rod that I pried out with a crowbar.

It seems what we are looking for was taken already.

Bardon takes the lead as we decide to head in the direction of a settlement. It is likely any colossi we come across will have had the Docent removed.

We come across a group of Warforged. They walk in single file to hide their numbers. They notice Bardon and redirect towards us. The leader of the band calls out to us and calls itself by the name of Mercy

We chat with them and ascertain that neither of us are enemy to the other. He offers us the location of their camp, Ialos.

We head towards Ialos after they head out to continue their own search. On our way, there we get ambushed by some constructs, likely a band of Warforged worshipping Blade that Mercy mentioned.

We manage to take them out, though the last one escapes us.

We continue onward to Ialos and find ourselves at a ravine with a colossi as a bridge.

It is a precarious situation and is hard for us to cross. And midway across, a living Cloud Kill spell drifts down toward us.

We manage to get away from the living spell and as we head away from it, we find 3 humanoids. We manage to cross the colossi and get away with the humanoids.

They tell us they are looking to retrieve the Docent’s from the Warforged in Ialos. Oof…

They let us know where their camp is.

Oh no. Decisions…
