We awake. Pash comes up to meet us. Followed shortly by Tasha. She comments on the existence of the Book of Vile Darkness in our possession and we explain that we had been seeing Vecna in our dreams for a while now.

She offers to take the book off our hands, though I could also use it to repay my debt to Sangora.

Treeavenger, Bardon, and Pash head out to Market Ward & Bank of Abbathor to do some shopping and find a Chrono Library where they may be able to quickly study through their manuals.

I sneak out to grab some new armor as well. And decide to hand over the Book of Vile Darkness to Tasha.

The others eventually head back and we prepare to head to the final piece of the Rod of Seven Parts.

It seems the final piece is located on Avernus.

The wizards tell us a bit about what to expect from the realm of devils and demons. A place where distances cannot be properly ascertained.

Mordenkainen warns of the presence of Tiamat in the realm.

We pass through the portal with Tasha and Bones wishes us luck — “You’re all going to die!”

The rod pieces do not lead us in any particular direction, but Treeavenger can tell that we need to head to The Red Belvedere

Break Time

Treeavenger climbs down the cliff while they discuss the need for a magic carpet to get us down, despite a rope being more than sufficient.

After we all climb down, we see a dust cloud approaching us from the distance.

A devil(?) calling herself Nykaia and her two sisters, Kypris and Mykale stop and offer to recruit us to help them take out a demon and will drop us off at The Red Belvedere.

After some pointless discussion to try and get them to give us more than a ride.Treeavenger hangs on for his dear life.

Eventually reaching the location of the creature. They drive off to deal with the creatures on the tower on the back of the demon, leaving us to deal with the creature itself.

I teleport in and strike the first blow. It fails to strike me back and flees past me.

Then some crazed vulture things fly off from its back.

Though we quickly take out the creature. The creatures flying away. It falls apart into a disgusting pile of ichor.

The demons come out from the back with a unicorn in tow.

We decide to attack them to save the unicorn.

They take the hostile action against them poorly.

Mykale and Kypris attack us, while Nykaia hacks off the unicorn’s horn and proceeds to fly away.

Mykale and Kypris shortly turn to flee as well.

The unicorn bleeds out.

Pash casts Hold Monster on Nykaia and calls for us to case them down. And with Treeavenger’s help, Pash and I catch up to them.

Bardon sprints after us.

Nykaia dies to an onslaught of attacks. The others follow.

Mykale drops to her knees in surrender. I strike her down. There can be no trusting a devil.

They all turn to ash, but leave the Unicorn Horn behind.

We discuss the capabilities of resurrecting the unicorn and find it impossible with what we currently have available.

Bardon cremates it’s remains.

We take the Venatrix as our own.

Treeavenger take’s the navigation seat, Pash drives, and I take the gunner position.

We ride. Full Speed.

Several demons block our way.

Grid

We try to blast them, while Pash continues plowing the path.

We are not doing great. A tiefling and horned human appear, taking out a group of the smaller creatures, calling themselves Karlach and Wyll.

We drift over and around the big guy, taking out the small guys before picking up Karlach and Wyll.

We speed off out of the area.

They ask that we take them to a place called the Wandering Emporium. A neutral trading hub in this infernal place. They don’t know where The Red Belvedere is, but ensure that someone at the Emporium will know.

We arrive after a time. Karlach and Wyll hop off to deal with their own devices.
