Kas, disguised as Mordenkainen, has stolen the completed Rod of Seven Parts and fled to to Pandesmos, the first layer of Pandemonium to free Miska, the Wolf-Spider.
They recommend we follow after him and take the Chime of Exile as well.
We decide to head through the portal to Pandesmos after Kas. Pash leading the way through…
And on the other side we find demons and bone beasts fighting along the ridge below.
Geysers at the bottom blow putrid water into the sky.
Bardon notices sprawling corpses at the base of the ravine that differ from the rest. We climb down pass through the geyser field to where the bodies are located.
They seem to have been deftly struck down by a blade.
We follow the boot prints left behind to a tower in the distance.
And find ourselves entering an area where two spider-like armies are fighting each other.
From the corpse of the large spider erupt several small wolf-headed spiders.
We enter the fray to strike them down.
A drow enters the field from the left and seems to assist us in finishing off the remaining wolf spiders.
After we finish off the remaining wolf spiders, the drow introduces themselves to us as Vaeve.
She asks for our help saving her sister, Naxa, and shows us a map of the nearby area. The body of Miska, the Wolf-Spider is below in the Ruinous Citadel. We may be able to strike at the Hurricane Tower above to allow it to topple down and strike at Miska’s forces situated at the citadel entrance below. She mentioned the person who looked like Kas as we described him, has been seen entering and leaving the Cliffside Redoubt further East.
She warns us that the skies are under Miska’s control and we should be wary of flight.
We decide to make our way to Hurricane Tower first.
We can see the Ruinous Citadel below as we head to the tower:
We reach Hurricane Tower and find a Lolth encampment with Spider Dragons and Drider along with many Drow spellcasters.
I recommend having Pash enter the encampment ahead of us, using his authority with the Hand of Vecna and Eye of Vecna to gain us an audience with their general.
He easily intimidates them into letting us pass to the entrance of the tower.

Break Time
Treeavenger knocks on the door and a Drider comes to greet us. Treeavenger and Pash go on in, and more Drider skitter down from above while a pair of drow accost them. The Camlash was not expecting anyone and they are not taking their chances with us.
Treeavenger goes deep into the room to finish off the spellcaster and attack the assassin in the back. I enter and strike at the nearby Drider.
Treeavenger climbs the nearby ladder to follow after the assassin to find himself face to face with Camlash. Treeavenger teleports back down with us. Camlash follows.
It ends up being a very difficult battle, but eventually Treeavenger finishes off Camlash, causing her to explode.
The room catches fire, Treeavenger rushes to take whatever loose valuables he can find, and then heads up to where Camlash was to cut the remaining webs holding the tower in place.
Treeavenger rushes out and teleports Bardon and I to safety before the tower topples into the ruins below.
We then quickly head down the slope before the remaining army could come investigate.
We take a short rest before heading into the Ruinous Citadel proper. We arrive at the entrance to the citadel with many dead or having fled, and Pash notices a broken sigil we didn’t have to deal with to get inside.
However, a pair of spider wolves appear ahead of us inside to block our path.
After an annoying battle, where Treeavenger is stunned by the webbing of the spiders, we manage to defeat them and move on.
Pash notices some ruins on a nearby door that matches the ruins on the front door of the building.
Bardon and I notice a Drow that looks like Vaeve in the room. I call out to Naxa and she responds, somewhat frightened. Relieved after mentioning we are with her sister though. She had retrieved a cloak of some importance to her and her sister.
We let her know that we had cleared the way out and up the cliff. She passes Treeavenger a potion of greater healing and then exits to find her sister.

After some bickering and Treeavenger working his way into the room to collect the opals, we move on.
We head into the next room, which was partially collapsed by the tower falling. The spiders inside are all dead. There is a map on the wall representing various forces.
As Pash investigates the map, he manages to see Kas attempting to free Miska, the Wolf-Spider below.
We head back out, understanding
We take the top path.
And find Kas in the middle of trying to free Miska, the Wolf-Spider.

Kas Dies.
As Kas dies, his secret is revealed - Vecna is in Pandesmos in the Cave of Shattered Reflections.
Though he is dead, leaving only the Sword of Kas behind, we still need to take care of the wolf spiders and the still-being-summoned-Miska.
Treeavenger manages to pull the Rod of Seven Parts out of the ground, forcing Miska back into the portal.
The wolf spiders cower, though Pash has no interest in keeping them, much to Treeavenger’s dismay.
They scatter.
Kas is dead.
Miska pushed back.
The location of Vecna obtained.
The Rod of Seven Parts returned.
Alustriel manages to reach us via Sending spell. She asks us what happened with Kas and if we found the location of Vecna. She urges us to return to Sigil.
We return to Sigil. Though it does not seem to be as expected? Alustriel and Tasha are frozen. Pash collapses. Vecna reaches speaks to us.
Tasha and Alustriel turn on us.
